Emergency Medicine -Senior Medical Officer

 

A busy major trauma hospital in South Auckland, Middlemore Hospital, located in Ōtāhuhu, has a well-equipped Emergency Department that handles life-threatening emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Leadership: Act as a team leader, especially in major trauma cases.
• Patient Care: Provide high-quality medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergencies.
• Education and Training: Participate in the training and supervision of junior doctors and medical students.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including trauma, burns, and spinal cord teams.
• Administrative Duties: Engage in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience and expertise in Emergency Medicine

Subspecialty interests will be considered.

Hold post graduate specialist qualifications and registration in Emergency Medicine

Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate and vocational scope of Emergency Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.

Health New Zealand has a Collective Employment Agreement in place across all their Districts offering:

Annual leave: 6 weeks

CME Allowance and Leave - $16,000/2 weeks

$185,000 - $268,000 Base salary + allowances for job size, on call and availability.
